Halloween Witch Finger Pretzel Rods

What you need

These Halloween witch finger pretzels turn plain pretzel rods into creepy almond-nail fingers dipped in green candy coating. They are a no-bake Halloween snack kids love to help decorate and adults love to pile onto a spooky party platter.

For the witch fingers:

  • 24 pretzel rods
  • 340g (12 oz) green candy melts or white chocolate + green gel colour
  • 24 sliced almonds (for fingernails)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (to thin melts if needed)
  • Red gel food colouring or seedless raspberry jam (for “bloody” cuticles, optional)

Recipe Steps

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment. Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20–30 second bursts, stirring until smooth. Stir in coconut oil if the coating is too thick.
  2. Dip each pretzel rod about three-quarters of the way into the green coating, letting excess drip back into the bowl. Lay on the parchment.
  3. While the coating is still soft, press one sliced almond at the tip as a fingernail. Use a toothpick to draw knuckle wrinkles across the finger.
  4. If using the bloody effect, dab a tiny bit of red gel or jam under each almond nail. Chill 10–15 minutes until set.
  5. Arrange on a dark platter or stick upright in a foam block covered with black tissue for a witchy display.

Tips & Variations

  • White chocolate + a drop of green gel colour works if candy melts are hard to find.
  • Work in small batches so the coating does not set before you add nails.
  • Store airtight at cool room temperature up to 3 days.
