No-Bake Spiderweb Cheesecake (The Spooky 20-Minute Halloween Showstopper)

Prep: 20 min · Cook: 0 min · Chill: 4 hours · Makes: 8 slices

hero spiderweb cheesecake

This is the Halloween dessert that steals the whole party table: a creamy, cloud-light no-bake cheesecake on a buttery graham crust, finished with a glossy chocolate spiderweb you pipe yourself in about two minutes. No oven, no gelatin, no baking skills required — just 20 minutes of actual work plus a chill in the fridge. The web looks impressive, but it’s genuinely the easiest part. Slice it at the party and watch it disappear.

What You Need

  • 2 cups (200g) graham cracker crumbs (about 14 full sheets)
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 3 oz (85g) dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • Pinch of salt

How To Make It

  1. Make the crust: stir crumbs, melted butter and sugar until it looks like wet sand. Press firmly and evenly into an 8-inch (20cm) springform pan. Chill 15 minutes.
  2. Beat cream cheese 2 minutes until completely smooth — no lumps. Beat in powdered sugar, vanilla and salt until silky.
  3. Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold into the cream cheese mixture in two additions, keeping the air in.
  4. Spread filling over the chilled crust and smooth the top. Cover and chill at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  5. Pipe the spiderweb: spoon melted chocolate into a piping bag or zip bag with a tiny corner snipped. Pipe 4-5 concentric circles on the chilled cheesecake starting at the center. Drag a toothpick from the center outward through the circles, wiping between drags.
  6. Run a thin knife around the edge, release the springform, slice with a hot dry knife (wipe between cuts). Serve chilled.

Tips & Variations

  • Room-temperature cream cheese is non-negotiable — cold cream cheese makes lumpy filling. Leave it on the counter 1 hour before starting.
  • Keep the web crisp: pipe the chocolate web right before serving (or up to 2 hours ahead). The chill of the cheesecake sets it fast.
  • Web rescue: if your circles wobble, drag the toothpick through anyway — a slightly wobbly web looks more “real” and no one notices at a party.
  • Make ahead: the cheesecake keeps 3 days in the fridge (covered). Add the web on party day.
  • Kid-friendly swap: use white chocolate for the web and tint it orange with food coloring for a jack-o’-lantern twist.
