Witches Brew Punch

It bubbles, it glows green, and the gummy worms are definitely plotting something. This Witches Brew Punch is the kid-friendly Halloween party drink that disappears faster than candy on October 31st — fizzy lemon-lime soda, sweet pineapple juice, and scoops of lime sherbet melting into a frothy, swampy-green cauldron.

Drop in candy eyeballs and gummy worms, ladle it into clear cups, and watch the little monsters lose their minds. Ten minutes, one punch bowl, zero cooking — the easiest win on your Halloween table. If you loved our Ghost Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate, this is its party-ready partner.

What You Need

  • ½ gallon (1.9 L) lime sherbet, slightly softened
  • 1 (2-liter) bottle lemon-lime soda, chilled (about 8½ cups / 2 L)
  • 4 cups (960 ml) pineapple juice, chilled
  • Fresh lime juice, ¼ cup (60 ml) (about 2 limes)
  • 8–10 drops green food coloring (optional, for extra-spooky color)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1 cup gummy worms, for serving
  • ½ cup candy eyeballs, for serving

How To Make It

  1. Chill everything first. Make sure the soda, pineapple juice, and lime juice are well chilled — a cold brew stays fizzy and the sherbet melts slower. Set the lime sherbet on the counter for 10 minutes so it scoops easily.
  2. Build the cauldron base. Scoop the softened lime sherbet into a large punch bowl or drink dispenser. Pour in the pineapple juice and fresh lime juice.
  3. Add the fizz. Slowly pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda, stirring very gently with a long spoon — you want to keep the bubbles alive. The sherbet will start foaming up like a witch’s cauldron.
  4. Go full spooky. Stir in the green food coloring a few drops at a time until you hit that perfect swampy green. Add the ice cubes and give one last gentle stir.
  5. Serve the brew. Ladle into clear cups or glasses so the green color shows off. Drop 2–3 gummy worms and a couple of candy eyeballs into each glass right before serving.

Tips & Variations

  • Keep it fizzy: Add the soda at the very last minute, right before guests arrive. Stir gently — aggressive stirring kills the bubbles.
  • Dry-ice drama (adults only): For a smoking-cauldron effect, place a small chunk of dry ice in a SEPARATE inner bowl behind the punch bowl — never in the drink itself, and never let kids handle it.
  • Make it purple: Swap the lime sherbet for rainbow sherbet and the pineapple juice for white grape juice for a poison-apple purple version.
  • Big-batch party: This doubles easily — use a second punch bowl rather than overfilling one, so the sherbet has room to foam.
