Tips & Variations

  • Keep the fizz: add the soda last, right before serving. Stirred-in soda goes flat fast.
  • Make-ahead: mix the juices and lime juice up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate. Add the sherbet, soda, grapes, and garnishes just before guests arrive.
  • Dry-ice drama: for a smoking cauldron effect, an adult can drop a small chunk of dry ice into the bowl with tongs. Never put dry ice in individual glasses or ingest it.
  • Flavor swap: use orange juice + orange sherbet and it becomes a ‘Pumpkin Patch Punch’ with the same method.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Hocus Pocus Punch stay fizzy?

About 1–2 hours once the soda is added. For the freshest fizz, pour the lemon-lime soda in right before guests arrive and serve within the hour.

Can I make Hocus Pocus Punch ahead of time?

Yes — mix the pineapple juice, green fruit punch, and lime juice up to 4 hours ahead and chill. Add the lime sherbet, soda, frozen grapes, and gummy worms just before serving.

Is Hocus Pocus Punch kid-friendly?

Completely. It is just fruit juice, sherbet, and soda — no alcohol, and no food dye. The green color comes from the green fruit punch and lime sherbet.

How do I keep the punch cold without diluting it?

Frozen green grapes double as edible ice cubes — they chill the punch and release a little extra flavor as they thaw, with zero watering down.
